Ever since releasing two singles and an album with Soul Jazz Records back in the mid-’90s, Jessica Lauren has been quietly and resolutely following her star as keyboard player/composer. Her self-produced album ‘film’ (MELT 2000) was groundbreaking jazztronica; her 10″ on People ‘The Name Of Fela Will Always Stand For Freedom’ a diamond-hard chunk of Afro-groove; check the small print and you’ll find her contributions to vinyl and CDs by artists as diverse as Joey Negro (Sunburst Band and many others), Alex Attias (Catalyst, Mustang, Beatless), Big Bang, Kay Suzuki, United Future Organisation, Juliet Roberts and Heliocentrics.
She’s been a core member of Nick Woodmansey’s Emanative space jazz project since it’s inception (check the amazing ‘Space’ album and companion remix album ‘Time’ on Futuristica), and is currently proudly signed to Freestyle Records: her ‘Jessica Lauren Four’ album was released in 2012.
