The guitarist and bassist and founding member of Fox Pass doesn’t even flinch when talking about his formative days as a musician. “I used to play accordion,” said Jon Macey. “I once played in an accordion orchestra. All accordions, like 20 of them. We were 10 or 11 years old. We were doing stuff like ‘Sentimental Journey’ and ‘Harbor Lights.’ “
Macey, who’s from Upstate New York, grew up in Arlington, and now lives in Waltham, formed Fox Pass in 1972, while still in high school, when he had switched to bass and singing, and met guitarist Mike Roy. Both of them were big Modern Lovers fans, and people who saw the duo play at the Cambridge Common could easily pick up on that.
