A fine singer based in Los Angeles, Julie Kelly studied classical guitar and attended Oakland City College. She lived in Brazil during 1970 and then started seriously performing in 1973. She freelanced in San Francisco (including with John Handy's group), moved to Los Angeles in 1980, and has recorded for Pausa and CMG. Julie Kelly teaches and performs regularly in L.A., and took time away from the music business to work on those efforts until 2001's Into the Light.
