Kaos Protokoll is a Swiss Electronically-inflected Post Jazz quartet, currently consisting of Benedikt Wieland (bass & electronics), Simon Spiess (saxophone, bass clarinet), Luzius Schuler (keys) and Flo Reichle (drums & electronics). The band formed in 2010 under the banner of "no concept as concept." At the beginning, the outfit played as a trio (bass, saxophone and drums), with Marc Stucki on saxophone.
In 2011, the trio made their first official live appearance at the JazzWerkstatt Festival in Bern, where they literally left their audience dumfounded. Shortly after, an extensive tour of Germany followed. It was on this journey that the band created the sound protocol for their debut LP, Quick & Dirty. The record was released in 2012 by WerkStattRecords (the in-house label of JazzWerkstatt). In 2015, they followed it up with their critically acclaimed sophomore full-length entitled Questclamationmarks. Stylistically, its an extension of the style that the Band had introduced
