Kārlis started his musical route in the music school of Madona (Latvia) after which he continued to study at the jazz department of Riga Dome Choir school. Has graduated from Conservatorium van Amsterdam, majoring in jazz music. Kārlis is active in many different music projects in Amsterdam and elsewhere - "Keno Harriehausen quartet" (recently won the first prize at "UJazz" (Utrecht) and "Jazz Award Zeeland 2013"), "KURK", "Mainspring Jazz Collective" and pop music band "TossiaCorman". Main influence for him is John Coltrane.
