With 4 critically acclaimed CDs and a 2009 Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Vocal, Kate McGarry has become widely recognized as a jazz artist who brings authenticity and vitality to an extraordinarily wide range of material. The Wall St. Journal calls her music "Austere and elegant", New York Times pronounced her " Astute and sensitive". She currently performs in many of jazz’s most venerated clubs and festivals throughout the US and abroad, and as an educator has served on the faculty of Manhattan School of Music. Downbeat Magazine has cited McGarry as 'Rising Star' vocalist for the past 3 years. Singer Kate McGarry grew up in Hyannis, Mass., as one of 10 children in a musical family that spent many nights singing.
