Born and raised in Paris, France, bassist/composer Louis de Mieulle started his musical education at 7, playing the cello. After switching to the bass guitar, he eventually graduated from the National Conservatory of Paris (classical writing) and the American School (jazz), and then moved to Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music, from which he graduated in two years.
In France he formed a groundbreaking jazz-groove band, SOUNDCHASER, but also participated in more mainstream projects – from classic rock to hip-hop.
In 2006, he won a composition contest with the comic opera “Tres Para Una”, co-written with Augustin d’Assignies and Edward Greaves.
Louis has also been teaching bass and music theory for years, both privately and in school context.
