Mauro Grossi born in Livorno, classical piano graduated at the Musical Institute “P. Mascagni ” Livorno, Diploma of Jazz achieved with honors from the Conservatory “G. Puccini” La Spezia followed the improvement in jazz piano taught by Herbie Hancock at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, he studied composition with Gaetano Giani Luporini and orchestra conducting with Carlo Moreno Volpini.
He began performing as a young Jazz pianist (Rome Folkstudio 1975) and the first 80ths as a conductor, composer and arranger. He has performed with important musicians including: Gilad Atzmon, Luis Agudo, Cyro Baptista, Chet Baker, Jeff Berlin, Clayton, Al Cohn, “Eddie” Lockjaw “Davis, Curtis Fuller, Al Grey, Eddie Henderson, Sheila Jordan, Robin Kenjatta, Peter King, Lee Konitz, Ray Mantilla, Jason Marsalis, Chuck McPherson, Bob Minzer, Alejandro Sanguinetti, David Schnitter, Tony Scott, Stan Sulzman, Bobby Watson, Paul Wertico, Kenny Wheeler, Ernie Wilkins, James Zollar.
