Max Stadtfeld was born on 29 April 1993 in Constance on Lake Constance and grew up in nearby Radolfzell, or in Liggeringen to be more precise. Via the typical southern German routes such as music school and brass band he arrived at jazz drumming via classical percussion. At just 14 he began lessons at Zurich University of the Arts. Until he began his studies at the HMT Leipzig Max played in the Percussion Ensemble and the Baden-Württemberg Jazz Orchestra. Stadtfeld has lived since 2013 in Leipzig, where he studied with Prof. Heinrich Köbberling, Prof. Michael Wollny and Johannes Lauer. Max Stadtfeld began working as a freelance musician after graduating in 2018. His début album on the ACT label is planned for 2019.
