Maxime Bender was born in Luxembourg. Music has always been a big part of his life, as he started playing the saxophone at age 6 and never stopped. He was influenced by all kinds of musical genres throughout his life, from Rock and Pop to Classical and Jazz. He went on to study music in the conservatory of Luxembourg and completed his higher education in Strasbourg, Brussels and Cologne. He is now dedicated to his music as a professional musician, leader of several projects and as a saxophone teacher. Maxime has enjoyed quite a career as the leader of his bands, namely the Maxime Bender 4tet, the Maxime Bender Orchestra and the Maxime Bender Group featuring David Binney. The style within these projects varies greatly from more spontaneous and free with the quartet to written and arranged with the big band. He takes advantage of the different natures of these projects
