Morrissey Mullen, formed by saxophonist Dick Morrissey and guitarist Jim Mullen, was one of the first and certainly the finest Jazz-Funk Fusion bands ever to work in the UK. In 1976 the band was launched and was soon playing to packed houses everywhere. Jim’s searing guitar lines played against Dick’s fabulous muscular and hugely inventive sax soloing created a unique sound still talked about today. The band existed as a full-time working entity for over 12 years before disbanding in 1988. Sadly Dick Morrissey died in 2000 and remains much missed to this day. The Morrissey Mullen Legacy Band features Jim Mullen on guitar, Dave Lewis on tenor saxophone and Noel McCalla on vocals together with a stellar rhythm section.
