London-born, South African-raised and now based in NYC, Schrire has performed at venues such as the 92Y, Cornelia Street Café, The Kitano and Rockwood Music Hall. She recently returned to South Africa to perform with a co-led quintet at the Standard Bank Youth Jazz Festival as well as leading successful debut performances in London (featuring pianist Nikki Iles) and Dublin (with the Phil Ware Trio).
A semi-finalist in the "Jazz Voices" Competition (Klaipeda, Lithuania), and a finalist in the "Voicingers International Vocal Jazz Competition" (Zory, Poland), her debut album, “Freedom Flight”, was released in 2012 to critical acclaim.
