After graduating Humber College in Toronto with a degree in contemporary music and playing with some of the school’s top bands (the Don Thompson Ensemble, the Humber Studio Jazz Big Band, Hilario Duran’s Latin Explosion), Olivier Clements moved back to his hometown of Victoria BC to perform and collaborate with some of the Canada’s best known indie rock and folk artists. His performances include concerts with Louis-Jean Cormier, Dan Mangan, Emily Reid, Towers and Trees, the O’Darling, Miss Emily Brown, Dave Lang, and Teagan Johnston. Clements has also performed as guest principal trumpet for the Civic Orchestra, the Coupland Birthday Orchestra, as a soloist and composer for the CBC Galaxy Rising Stars (opening for Brian Blade Fellowship Band) and as a trumpet player for the Victoria Operatic Society and the Victoria Jazz Orchestra.
