Owen Broder is a saxophonist based in New York City. He runs in a variety of musical circles, leading his own groups and participating in others. Broder’s jazz quintet, Cowboys & Frenchmen, released its debut album Rodeo in 2015 on Outside In Music, which garnered terrific reviews and enjoyed top placement on radio charts. Their recent 2017 release, Bluer Than You Think, received a four-star review from Downbeat Magazine, and was celebrated with an eight-market tour visiting historic stages including Blues Alley (D.C.) and Cliff Bell’s (Detroit). They performed at the DC Jazz Festival in 2016 and 2017, and at the 2017 Umbria Jazz Festival. His American Roots Project’s album Heritage (2018) is a featured project on ArtistShare®, and earned him a 2018 Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award.
