Scott Neumann, a Bartlesville Oklahoma native, began playing drums professionally at the age of thirteen. His first major work was with The Woody Herman Orchestra, which he joined in 1988. Since moving to New York City in 1988, Scott has established himself as one of New York’s most creative and versatile drummers.
Scott leads two musical groups that are very different in scope. His “Neu3 Trio”, comprised of the critically acclaimed members Michael Blake (saxophones) and Mark Helias (acoustic bass), is looking forward to debuting their recently recorded CD in 2012. A more electric quartet named Osage County features the illustrious members David Berkman (piano), Sam Newsome (sax) and Ben Rubin (bass). The first self-titled CD is Scott Neumann and Osage County (Chicken Coup Records) and is available through itunes and amazon.com.
