Jazz music community with review and forums
Shep Fields was a popular band leader during the "Big Band era", leading the band Shep Fields and his Rippling Rhythm. The band and their music was easily identified by the rippling sound that he used to open his shows and many of the songs he recorded. In 1937, Field and his band were featured in the Max Fleischer "follow the bouncing ball" Screen Songs cartoon You Came To My Rescue. It was Field's earliest known film appearance. The following year, in 1938, he appeared in his first major motion picture - The Big Broadcast of 1938 - alongside Bob Hope and W.C. Fields.
