Steve Noble studied with Nigeria master drummer Elkan Ogunde and in the early 1980s was a member of Rip Rig and Panic, touring extensively throughout Europe and England. Since then he has worked in a variety of musical contexts but has been extensively involved in improvised music through work with a wide range of musicians. These include: Derek Bailey's Company: Noble was involved in Company Weeks in 1987, 1989 and 1990, appeared with them at the Thessalonika Jazz Festival in 1985 and participated in a Company tour of Switzerland and Italy in 1987.
