No truer words were spoken when considering the prestigious career of jazz/blues guitar master Stew Cutler. All musicians that succeed only do so by continuing the journey and exploration of music's endless road. One stop on that road for Cutler is his Sunday night residency at Arthur's Tavern in New York City's Greenwich Village.
Born and raised in New York City, Cutler developed a keen interest in the guitar at an early age. His natural abilities were fueled by his thirst to grow as a player prompting him to hit the road at age 19, getting his first gig with blues legend Z.Z. Hill. In pursuit of advancing his musical scope, Cutler began working with instrumental pioneers Bobby Previte and Eliot Sharp. He later moved to Woodstock, NY and worked with bassist Harvey Brooks as well as numerous musical luminaries in that fertile landscape.
