THE BACKSTAGE picture
The Backstage is formed by Steve Hackett band members Jonas Reingold, Craig Blundell (drums) and Rob Townsend (sax). The energetic pandemic debut album contains 70’s influenced progressive prog/jazz/fusion and showcases ‘royalty’ from around the globe: Steve Hackett, Roine Stolt, Luke Machin, Nick Beggs, Marco Minnemann, Pat Mastelotto, Andy Tillison, Tom Brislin, Roger King, Lalle Larson and more. Expect music influenced by Return To Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Brecker Brothers and Billy Cobham.

The band came about when Steve Hackett’s 2020 World Tour was curtailed due to COVID-19 in March 2020. Jonas Reingold said: “Here we are, five months later with this very CD in our hands,.
