The Sours are an acoustic trio from New York. The self-titled album is a melange of smoky jazz, classic rock, and art school-derived music. The songs range from cutting, slice-of-life observations to raw, diaristic confessions. For those who search out the morose in music, of course The Sours have plenty to offer; but the album also contains uplifting glimpses of hope as well as a surprising sense of humor.

Sarah Schrift (vocals, lyrics, guitar): As a lyricist, Schrift aims at unflinching honesty. She believes that great art is rooted in embarrassing truths and strives for that in her work. Sarah is not only a singer/songwriter, but an accomplished and degreed painter that shows her work both nationally and internationally. The Sours self-titled album features her cover and interior designs. Sarah creates one-of-a-kind pieces of handmade jewelry out of vintage and repurposed materials and she also teaches art classes in NYC. read more...
