Trout Cake is a fun eclectic stew playing primarily original jazz/rock. There is a nice amount of live improvisation involved in our show. The genres we range from are latin to reggae to funk, middle eastern to hard rock, blues, jazz and contemporary progressive sounds. We have been playing together for several years now, largely refining our extended original repertoire. We do like to throw in some covers that strike us at times. There is some singing but plenty of instrumental music. The instrumentation is guitar/vocals, keyboards, bass/vocals, drum set, and tenor saxophone. Trout Cake is tight, and certainly out of the box.
