TYMANSKI YASS ENSEMBLE was set up in November 2003, when the four-piece Tymon Tymański Band was joined by charismatic trumpeter Antoni Ziut Gralak, the leader of TIE BREAK, GRAAL czy YESHE. The group carries on the tradition of the so called Tricity's yass scene of the 90-ties, its repertoir being a natural blend of jazz, alternative rock and ethnic music. YASS ENSEMBLE draws on Tymanski's experience with the legendary MILOSC and the scenic contribution from his band mates, some of them being leaders of their own groups and authors of original music concepts. The band recorded its first album called "Jitte" (from a shotokan karate form meaning "ten hands" in Japanese) in spring 2004 in the Gdansk Biodro studios.
