The debut LP of Váczi Eszter Quartet entitled Vissza hozzád (Back to You) turned gold over less than one year in 2009. Now it is platinum already. The success of the album with 10 original tracks and one cover song surpassed every expectations. The exceptional reception of the album may be attributed to the fact that the band pioneered in releasing a jazz album with Hungarian lyrics, which had been unprecedented in Hungary before. The band was formed in 2002 and they started with playing well known jazz standards but they soon realized that it was not their way to go. Their music caught the attention of Tom Tom Records who decided to sign the band. Immediately after the release of the debut album the radio stations started to play the Quartet’s tracks and as a result the band received more and more invitations for concerts.
