Vincent Le Quang was born in Aurillac, France in 1975. He studied at the Schola Cantorum (harmony, counterpoint and composition) and at the Paris Conservatoire (jazz and improvisation). He won the Soloist First Prize and the Orchestra First Prize at the “La Défense” French Jazz Contest in 2003. Lê Quang composes for different formations in which he plays and conducts orchestras, employing the improvisational gestural art of Soundpainting that he has been presenting in France for seven years. He has collaborated on several CDs, with Daniel Humair, Jean-Paul Celea, Riccardo Del Fra. Since 2007 he has taught improvisation at the Paris Conservatoire.
