Walter Beltrami has been defined as “one of the most interesting and original guitarist and composer of the new Italian Jazz scene”. Italian Jazz magazine MusicaJazz considers him one of the four guitarists who are re-shaping contemporary jazz guitar. Eclectic and visionary, he began his career playing all sort of music before falling in love with jazz and improvised music. He studied at Berklee College of Music (Boston) with great educators such as Mick Goodrick, Ed Tomassi, Dave Santoro, John Damian and then graduated with full scores at the Musikhochschule Luzern, studying with Christy Doran, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Frank Moebus. He recorded 6 cds as a leader, among which the recent "Looperville" and “Paroxysmal Postural Vertigo” and "Kernel Panic" with modern jazz phenomenons Jim Black, Francesco Bearzatti, Vincent Courtois, Giovanni Falzone and Stomu Takeishi. On 2004 he won the Prize Incroci Sonori Jazz at Moncalieri Jazz Festival, the Prize Luca Flores as best soloist
