Z-Country Paradise's music projects beyond jazz. The compositional and improvisational techniques of Stockhausen, Cage, Boulez, and Ligeti, the play of Hendrix, the electric Miles, the hardcore avant-punk of Thurston Moore, and the experimental performances of Laurie Anderson influence this generation of European musicians as much as the innovations of Parker, Monk, Trane, and Ornette. Composer Frank Gratkowski calls this his ‘dream band’ – dreams interspersed with nightmares, visions, and passions.
