"Return of the Space Cowboy", Jamiroquai's second full album release, certainly breaches the realm of Acid Jazz, much more so than Jamiroquai's far funkier debut album "Emergency on Planet Earth." "Return of the Space Cowboy" has an eclectic diversity that indeed makes this a great album to listen to in it's entirety. Toby's mastery of his bag of keyboards shines throughout this album from the dominant clavinet part in "Stillness in Time", to the quirky synth parts in "Half the Man", and smooth fender Rhodes solo in "Mr. Moon". Zender brings a quite melodic bass line to the forefront in "Manifest Destiny", along with displaying his technical ability in "Mr. Moon" and "Scam". The exotic digeridoo of Walis Buchanan returns for another bout in the midst of this album in "Journey to Arnhemland." Derrick McKenzie, Jamiroqui's current drummer also makes an impressive debut on this album as well. The final track "Space Cowboy" is indeed a must listen to as well.
