About
I have always been inspired by women in the arts. These incredible women come from many genres and have brought diverse perspectives to my vision. We are in the perfect social and artistic climate to address the importance and necessity of women’s work and the deep global impact that it has. Sadly, that powerful impact is not always acknowledged and celebrated and I must do my part to change that. As an artist, my primary mode of championing that importance is through music.
“Intuition” is a celebration of women composers. It features some of my newest compositions, the works of other contemporary female composers, and unique arrangements of songs by legendary songwriters such as Joni Mitchell and Violeta Parra.
By acknowledging women composers in this album, I hope to inspire the current and next generation of female composers to continuously press towards excellence in every work we create. What we have to contribute to the world around us is valid and powerful and it all starts with what we express from our minds and hearts, our convictions and INTUITION.
