Hi Everyone!! Here is my first EPK (electronic press kit) that was shot at our recording session for “Songs My Mom Liked,” an album of music dedicated to my 88-year-old Mom, Joan Branker. As I look back at my own life, I am so grateful that she was my first teacher and that she helped me to develop my love for learning, which greatly contributed to defining my life as an educator. While she has been mightily challenged by the advanced stages of cognitive decline in the form of dementia for the past seven years, my heart remains filled with all the incredible memories of life with her before this disease took control. In order to complete this project, I have set-up this GoFundMe project page and hope you can help support bringing it into the world!!

The inspiration for this recording came after witnessing how Mom’s state of being would transform in positive ways whenever she listened to some of the music I had composed earlier on in my career (her face would brighten, her body would start to move and sway, and she would even hum or sing some of the melodies!!). So this album is a reimagining of 11 of these compositions, 9 of which have been previously recorded, but this time they are performed by a group of musicians that have never played them before. There is also a piece my daughter Parris wrote back when she was 11 years old that will be on the album!!

As you might imagine, creating and putting out an album is a costly endeavor and involves such things as payments to the musicians for recording and rehearsal time, travel costs, 10 hours of studio recording time, another 15+ hours for mixing/editing and creating the final master, CD manufacturing and distribution, promotional mailings of the recording to radio and critics, a publicist, radio promotion, video recording/editing - all of which come to an estimated cost of $24,000 for this project.

Please help us get to our GoFundMe goal of $20,000 for the creation and release of the album “Songs My Mom Liked” by Anthony Branker & Imagine
