David Cross became known as a violinist at the legendary progressive rock band of Robert Fripp (King Crimon). He is a pioneer in the field of the electric rock violin, and was part of the groundbreaking formation from 1972 to 1974, when it included the legendary album 'Larks' Tongues in Aspic' (1973).
His own band with which he played the NIEUWE NOR on Thursday May 18th is not too bad and consists of only top musicians:

David Cross - Violin
David Jackson - Sax, Clarinet, Flute, Keyboard etc (Van der Graaf Generator),
Craig Blundell -Drums (Steven Wilson, Frost *),
Linian Wilde - Singing
Paul Clark - Guitar (Tolga Kashif)
Mick Paul - Bass

David Cross's musical oeuvre seems hard to know when viewing his catalog: progrock, metal, jazz, ambient.
This is also reflected in his first solo album Memos from Purgatory (1987), an instrumental album on which Cross was interested in Arabic and other oriental music.
Last year, four albums were released.
His new record 'The Sign of the Crow' (2016) is described by critics as an unmitigated masterpiece and is appreciated by both metal and jazz reviewers as the progressive rock lover.

David Cross - Viool
David Jackson - Sax, Klarinet, fluit, keybord enz (Van der Graaf Generator),
Craig Blundell -Drums (Steven Wilson, Frost*),
Linian Wilde - Zang
Paul Clark - Gitaar (Tolga Kashif)
Mick Paul - Bass
