For the Love of Faith: A Tribute to San Francisco Jazz and Cabaret Legend Faith Winthrop
FAITH WINTHROP
Online Video

Jazz music community with discographies, reviews and forums

This video by beloved friend and singer Madeline Eastman is a tribute to the late, great Faith Winthrop (1931-2019), who was one of San Francisco's most influential jazz and cabaret singers and vocal coaches from the 1950s to 2019. She founded Glide Memorial Church's gospel choir, was the house singer at the famed Hungry I, and mentored many of the region's best singers. Faith lived life fully and passionately, and she passed away at 87 in 2019. She is widely beloved and missed. This video showcasing some of her music and life was part of her celebration of life. We hope you enjoy it. (Beautiful opening and closing photo by Thomas Heinser)
