Henry Butler, Steven Bernstein and their Hot 9 will soon inaugurate the impulse! release schedule in revisiting the music of New Orleans, Jelly Roll Morton and Fats Waller with Viper's Drag, an incredibly retro-modern opus.

The legendary pianist from New Orleans — the heir to Professor Longhair, but also an outstanding colleague of James Booker and Allen Toussaint — meets the New York trumpeter/arranger prized by the greatest musicians: Don Cherry, Lou Reed, or Antony & The Johnsons.
