The Mike Longo big band, The NY State of the Art Jazz Ensemble, performs his original composition "Yoko Mama" at the John Birks Gillespie Auditorium in the New York Baha'i Center. Mike was Dizzy Gillespie's long time pianist and musical director as well as and Oscar Peterson protege. This concert was held on 7/23/13. The theater is located in the heart of Greenwich Village at 53 E. 11th St. between B'way and University Pl. Concerts are held there every Tuesday at 8 and 9:30 PM in Gillespie's honor.
