Jazz music community with review and forums

Kid Ory's Sunshine Orchestra backs Ruth Lee singing "Maybe Someday" (song by John Spikes and Reb Spikes). Recorded in 1922 in Los Angeles, California. Issued on Nordskog 3008 B and Sunshine 3002-A.

Singer Ruth Lee made only one record (two tracks--front and back of disc). She might be considered obscure, but this particular record features "hot" jazz musicians on what must be considered a very early date for real jazz. The musicians on this record save Ruth Lee from complete obscurity. She is backed by important musicians--that is her claim to fame.
