Sean Trane
This album can qualify as Fusion by melting eastern music (from gypsy to arabian to indian) and jazz. This is a fine album very worthy of Embryo , the band that refused compromise and stayed right on track with their original goals - there are two more commercial albums in the mid-70's (Surfin and Bad Heads) but they were manipulated by their label and they rebelled about it by exploring India for an 18 month period. This trip was to changed them deeply . Although they had been pioneering into meddling world folk music into their typical jazz-rock , later albums will reflect this aspect even more and some will sound more world music than jazz-rock (1981's Life). This album is recorded live in Barcelona for a benefit concert. If you are to enjoy Jazz-laced world music , than this will be a good album for you.
