Although the album sleeve doesn’t mention it loudly, this is another Very Very Circus album with a largely unchanged line-up (only trombonist Knowles is gone), but featuring an extended list of guests musicians. Actually Dime is a much more energetic and a tad crazier affair than Nuff is, and on top of it, two songs are sung, including a Caribbean/African chanting 13-mins+ Better Wrapped all wrapped up into a Manouche melody. Weird stuff, I tell you. Plenty of other odds and twists on an entertaining album, with the closing 100 mph Ammonia track lingering too long in our air, thus overstaying its welcome well before half its length. In certain ways, Dime blows away Nuff from the stage, especially when it comes to spectrum or scope and wildness of the propos.
