BlueNote
This is one of my most favourite albums of the modern jazz period. I've stumbled upon this group during my visit of Prague in 2011, they've played in a well known club called Agharta (environment is very nice there, I can certainly recommend it) and they were amazing. Balzar's bass technique is wonderful as well as the beautiful sound of the piano and great percussions played with a deep feeling of someone really admiring his instrument.
Overnight consists of versions of jazz standards (their rendition of Dolphin Street is one of my favourites) and their own compositions. For me, this album has many peaks - already mentioned On the Green Dolphin Street, melancholic Lady Behind the Window or even the playful Ben-In-Jam.
This one will not break any grounds or cause a new jazz revolution but it is so beautiful, I believe it should have its place in every jazz collection.
