A mastermind behind US3 is London jazz producer Geoff Wilkinson. He used great jazz samples for mixing them with strong female r'n'b/soul vocals, rapper and hip-hop beats. The result is groovy and catchy dance-able songs everyone of you heard many times from virtually everywhere in early 00'.

I received this album almost 10 years ago as a gift from my Spanish friend, she commented that all Madrid discos are crazy about it!Living in a bit out of modern world trends Aberdeen during that time I was really pleasantly surprised how catchy but not cheesy this album sounds!

Excellent idea to combine great jazz recorded compositions with some live instruments and vocals remixing the beats at the same time was still quite fresh at that time and really made a serious revolution in music clubs culture. Perfectly produced and recorded, this music attracted attention of younger generation to jazz-related music once again.

For sure, this music isn't primal jazz of any form, but on this album there are plenty of groove and sax improvs, jazzy beats strong soul-jazz vocals. Not a release for jazz purists, but one of the greatest early recordings of hip-hop jazz, influenced later myriads of followers and copy-cats.
