One of my desert island albums. Often when listening to Jacques Loussier's improvisations on Bach I wonder if I love this music so much because Bach's music or because Loussier's improvisation.Difficult answer but for certain Loussier has a great contribution (at least he doesn't spoil it like others). By the way I prefer Loussier's version to the original. Bach swings, and when you listen to this music you wonder how Bach's music would have sounded would have lived in the XXth century. Jacques Loussier gets great support from bassist Benoit Dunoyer De Segonzac and drummer Andre'Arpino(by the way, I saw this trio in concert, they were fantastic!) in creating maybe his best Bach album. Great music, appeals both to classic and jazz fans, you can swing or relax on it but you will always come back to it.
