Warthur
Yet another strong Funkadelic album from an especially prolific period for the Parliament-Funkadelic collective, Let's Take It To The Stage contains such delights as the ridiculously catchy vocal anthem Get Off Your Ass and Jam, a dark ballad of groupie sex in the form of No Head No Backstage Pass, and concludes with Atmosphere, an intriguing flirtation with keyboard-dominated progressive rock. George Clinton's trademark warped vision of funk is, as always, in full effect, with compositions as well-judged as ever, and the briefer, snappier length of the songs means that the album ends up being a bit more diverse in its sound than its predecessor.
