I try to contain my love for the collision of jazz with soul and funk when I review certain records. With this one, I cannot hold back. This is primo grade A certified jazzfunkdelight. Snippets of Weldon's stream of consciousness weave a unified tapestry of the finest thread.
In fact, it's so funky, it's readily apparent after listening why Weldon Irvine is THE progenitor of rap music, along with Andre Williams and Gil Scott-Heron. His spoken word illustrations add a certain color to the music no crooner could. Check out the beginning of "Soul Sisters" and "Watergate".
Classic, funky beatjams pervade the record, and an intimate joy greets the open minded listener.
This Time Capsule should live forever, therefore 5 stars is my rating
